Respect for Human Rights
Human rights policy
We are aligned with human rights-related information standards such as the ILO's International Labour Standards, International Bill of Human Rights and Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and Children’s Rights and Business Principles, and we respect the human rights of all stakeholders. This is the bedrock of our corporate activities.
Based on the following policy, the COMSYS Group strives to ensure all stakeholders an environment with fairness and dignity and contributes to the realization of a sustainable society.
- We obey laws applicable in the countries and regions we operate. Where a discrepancy exists between internationally accepted human rights and national and regional laws, the COMSYS Group will respect the former.
- We will respect basic human rights and will not discriminate on the basis of differences in race, religious faith, creed, nationality, gender (gender identity), disability, age or other personal characteristic in our business operations.
- We do not condone any form of labor practice that infringes on human rights, such as forced labor or child labor.
- We respect people's freedom of association and the right to collectively bargain.
Promotion structure
On the foundation of our human rights policy, we are committed to respecting human rights. As this initiative is cross-departmental, the specialized divisions in different areas handle human rights risks that are unique to the COMSYS Group.
Companies of the COMSYS Group maintain systems for facilitating the exchange of information about human rights in-house and seek to increase there staff's awareness of human rights so that they can identify human rights risks that are unique to the industries we operate in and can take appropriate actions.
Human rights due diligence
We build a system for regularly evaluating risks to identify, prevent, mitigate and correct any potential direct or indirect negative impact or value chains may have on human rights. If anything negatively impacting human rights has been identified, we will takes measures to correct the matter and provide relief appropriately and promptly.
Furthermore, our efforts to reduce negative impact on human rights will be continuously evaluated in an effort to facilitate continuous improvement.
Employee training
Proper education and training will be provided with the goal of ensuring the sufficient penetration of the human rights policy within the COMSYS Group and increase every employee's awareness of human rights.
Training sessions regarding power, sexual and pregnancy harassment and LGBTQ and other issues provided. During these sessions, information about trends and detailed points to pay attention to are communicated to teach employees how to properly handle these issues.
Asking the supply chains for action on human rights
We also request that our suppliers respect human rights and secure good work conditions.
The COMSYS Group Supply Chain Sustainability Promotion Guidelines prohibit forced labor, inhumane treatment, child labor and discrimination and encourage suppliers to consider young workers, appropriate wages and benefits, work hours and the freedom of association and collective bargaining rights.
Asking our suppliers to understand these guidelines and communicate about and fulfill these requests, we cooperate with the suppliers in their initiatives for solving labor-related human rights issues in supply chains.
Establishment of a whistleblowing and consultation hotline
We have established a hotline for receiving whistleblowing reports from employees (including contract employees), officers, temporary employees, part-time employees, employees of subsidiaries and business partners and former employees (within one year of leaving the company) and providing consultation services. We identify and react to any violations of in-house regulations, harassment, misconduct and other problems at an early stage to mitigate risks and prevent violations.
In addition to maintaining the confidentiality of information related to whistleblowing reports and protecting whistleblowers, we prevent any disadvantageous treatment of employee whistleblowers in any form, such as their dismissal, demotion or the reduction of their pay because the employee is a whistleblower.
